Kara is the Director of Wound Care Services at the George Washington University Hospital. Kara has worked at GW for 11 years and has been a Wound Care NP for 23 years. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Committee and an Associate Research Professor of Surgery at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where she chairs or serves on multiple committees. Kara is the President of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and the Vice-Chair of the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders. Kara is a Fellow of the Association of the Advancement of Wound Care. Kara is the co-chair of the Wound Care Community for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
